Turfgrass managers rely on fungicides to suppress snow mold diseases in areas with persistent snow cover, which are commonly applied once or twice in late fall prior to snow cover. Fungicide applications targeting snow mold are expected to control snow mold diseases for the duration of winter; however, climate change is increasing the frequency of winter rainfall and snowmelts and may alter the duration of snow mold control. A 3-year study was conducted in Madison, WI to assess the impact of snow cover and antitranspirants on the persistence of the commonly used fungicides chlorothalonil and propiconazole. Snow cover, fungicide treatment, and the use of antitranspirants had minimal impacts on fungicide persistence and disease control. The most important factors influencing persistence of the fungicides were snowmelt and winter rainfall events, yet antitranspirants demonstrated modest evidence of extending chlorothalonil persistence in certain years. These results demonstrate that increasing snowmelt and winter rainfall events associated with climate change will increase dissipation of fungicides used for snow mold suppression which will likely impact disease control.

Cognitive impairment is a common symptom following mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI or concussion) and can persist for years in some individuals. Hippocampal slice preparations following closed-head, rotational acceleration injury in swine have previously demonstrated reduced axonal function and hippocampal circuitry disruption. However, electrophysiological changes in hippocampal neurons and their subtypes in a large animal mTBI model have not been examined. Using in vivo electrophysiology techniques, we examined laminar oscillatory field potentials and single unit activity in the hippocampal network 7 days post-injury in anesthetized minipigs. Concussion altered the electrophysiological properties of pyramidal cells and interneurons differently in area CA1. While the firing rate, spike width and amplitude of CA1 interneurons were significantly decreased post-mTBI, these parameters were unchanged in CA1 pyramidal neurons. In addition, CA1 pyramidal neurons in TBI animals were less entrained to hippocampal gamma (40-80 Hz) oscillations. Stimulation of the Schaffer collaterals also revealed hyperexcitability across the CA1 lamina post-mTBI. Computational simulations suggest that reported changes in interneuronal physiology may be due to alterations in voltage-gated sodium channels. These data demonstrate that a single concussion can lead to significant neuronal and circuit level changes in the hippocampus, which may contribute to cognitive dysfunction following mTBI.

Many marine mammal populations are recovering after long eras of exploitation.1,2 To what degree density-dependent body size declines in recovering species reflect a general response to increased resource competition is unknown. We examined skull size (as a proxy for body size), skull morphology, and foraging dynamics of the top marine predator, the California sea lion (Zalophus californianus), which have been steadily increasing over the last few decades and have approached or reached their carrying capacity in southern California.3 We show that, contrary to predictions, male California sea lions increased rather than decreased their average body size over a 46-year (1962-2008) recovery period. Larger males had proportionally longer oral cavities and more powerful bite strength, and their foraging niche expanded. Females between 1983 and 2007 maintained stable skull dimensions, but their isotopic niche was broader than contemporary males. Increased male body size is compatible with an intensification of density-dependent sexual selection for larger and more competitive individuals concurrent with an expanding foraging niche. High foraging variability among females would explain their body size stability during decades of population recovery. We demonstrate that body size reduction is not the universal response to population recovery in marine mammals and show that selective ecological dynamics could contribute to protecting populations against the increased density-dependent intraspecific competition. However, prey shifts associated with climate change will likely prevent California sea lions (and other marine mammals) from attaining these ecological dynamics, augmenting their vulnerability to resource competition and diminishing their capacity to overcome it.

This study quantifies golf course pesticide risk in five regions across the US (Florida, East Texas, Northwest, Midwest, and Northeast) and three countries in Europe (UK, Denmark, and Norway) with the objective of determining how pesticide risk on golf courses varied as a function of climate, regulatory environment, and facility-level economic factors. The hazard quotient model was used to estimate acute pesticide risk to mammals specifically. Data from 68 golf courses are included in the study, with a minimum of at least five golf courses in each region. Though the dataset is small, it is representative of the population at confidence level of 75 % with a 15 % margin of error. Pesticide risk appeared to be similar across US regions with varied climates, and significantly lower in the UK, and lowest in Norway and Denmark. In the Southern US (East Texas and Florida), greens contribute most to total pesticide risk while in nearly all other regions fairways make the greatest contribution to overall pesticide risk. The relationship between facility-level economic factors such as maintenance budget was limited in most regions of the study, except in the Northern US (Midwest, Northwest, and Northeast) where maintenance and pesticide budget correlated to pesticide risk and use intensity. However, there was a strong relationship between regulatory environment and pesticide risk across all regions. Pesticide risk was significantly lower in Norway, Denmark, and the UK, where twenty or fewer active ingredients were available to golf course superintendents, than it was in US where depending on the state between 200 and 250 pesticide active ingredients were registered for use on golf courses.

Body size and feeding morphology influence how animals partition themselves within communities. We tested the relationships among sex, body size, skull morphology and foraging in sympatric otariids (eared seals) from the eastern North Pacific Ocean, the most diverse otariid community in the world. We recorded skull measurements and stable carbon (δ13C) and nitrogen (δ15N) isotope values (proxies for foraging) from museum specimens in four sympatric species: California sea lions (Zalophus californianus), Steller sea lions (Eumetopias jubatus), northern fur seals (Callorhinus ursinus) and Guadalupe fur seals (Arctocephalus townsendi). Species and sexes had statistical differences in size, skull morphology and foraging significantly affecting the δ13C values. Sea lions had higher δ13C values than fur seals, and males of all species had higher values than females. The δ15N values were correlated with species and feeding morphology; individuals with stronger bite forces had higher δ15N values. We also found a significant community-wide correlation between skull length (indicator of body length), and foraging, with larger individuals having nearshore habitat preferences, and consuming higher trophic level prey than smaller individuals. Still, there was no consistent association between these traits at the intraspecific level, indicating that other factors might account for foraging variability.

Magnaporthiopsis meyeri-festucae is a recently identified root-infecting pathogen of fine fescue (Festuca spp.) turfgrasses. Although it is phylogenetically similar to other root-infecting turfgrass pathogens such as M. poae, management of M. meyeri-festucae is distinct and highlights the need for fast and accurate identification. The objective of this study was to develop a rapid detection method for M. meyeri-festucae using recombinase polymerase amplification (RPA) to assist turfgrass managers in identifying the disease in the field and facilitate further epidemiological research on the pathogen. Three isolates of M. meyeri-festucae and eight isolates from four related Magnaporthiopsis species were used to test the specificity of the RPA assay targeting M. meyeri-festucae. Rapid visualization of the RPA assay results using a mixture of purified amplicon and SYBR-Safe fluorescence emitting asymmetrical cyanine dye showed that the assay was effective at detecting M. meyeri-festucae on turfgrass roots with no observed incidence of false positives or false negatives. The assay also differentiated between M. meyeri-festucae and other Magnaporthiopsis species, although overall sensitivity was lower compared with a PCR-based method. The RPA assay successfully detected M. meyeri-festucae following inoculation onto and grinding of turfgrass roots, indicating possible use as a rapid field diagnostic tool for turfgrass managers. The fast and accurate RPA M. meyeri-festucae detection method presented here will be used for additional field and laboratory applications that will help improve the management of this emerging pathogen.

BACKGROUND: In this study, we describe a technique of optimizing the accuracy of frameless deep brain stimulation (DBS) lead placement through the use of a cannula poised at the entry to predict the location of the fully inserted device. This allows real-time correction of error prior to violation of the deep gray matter. METHODS: We prospectively gathered data on radial error during the operative placements of 40 leads in 28 patients using frameless fiducial-less DBS surgery. Once the Nexframe had been aligned to target, a cannula was inserted through the center channel of the BenGun until it traversed the pial surface and a low-dose O-arm spin was obtained. Using 2 points along the length of the imaged cannula, a trajectory line was projected to target depth. If lead location could be improved, the cannula was inserted through an alternate track in the BenGun down to target depth. After intraoperative microelectrode recording and clinical assessment, another O-arm spin was obtained to compare the location of the inserted lead with the location predicted by the poised cannula. RESULTS: The poised cannula projection and the actual implant had a mean radial discrepancy of 0.75 ± 0.64 mm. The poised cannula projection identified potentially clinically significant errors (avg 2.07 ± 0.73 mm) in 33% of cases, which were reduced to a radial error of 1.33 ± 0.66 mm (p = 0.02) after correction using an alternative BenGun track. The final target to implant error for all 40 leads was 1.20 ± 0.52 mm with only 2.5% of errors being >2.5 mm. CONCLUSION: The poised cannula technique results in a reduction of large errors (>2.5 mm), resulting in a decline in these errors to 2.5% of implants as compared to 17% in our previous publication using the fiducial-less method and 4% using fiducial-based methods of DBS lead placement.

Dollar spot, caused by the fungal pathogen Clarireedia spp., is an economically important foliar disease of amenity turfgrass in temperate climates worldwide. This disease often occurs in a highly variable manner, even on a local scale with relatively uniform environmental conditions. The objective of this study was to investigate mechanisms behind this local variation, focusing on contributions of the soil and rhizosphere microbiome. Turfgrass, rhizosphere, and bulk soil samples were collected from within a 256-m2 area of healthy turfgrass, transported to a controlled environment chamber, and inoculated with Clarireedia jacksonii Bacterial communities were profiled by targeting the 16S rRNA gene, and 16 different soil chemical properties were assessed. Despite their initial uniform appearance, the samples differentiated into highly susceptible and moderately susceptible groups following inoculation in the controlled environment chamber. The highly susceptible samples harbored a unique rhizosphere microbiome with suggestively lower relative abundance of putative antibiotic-producing bacterial taxa and higher predicted abundance of genes associated with xenobiotic biodegradation pathways. In addition, stepwise regression revealed that bulk soil iron content was the only significant soil characteristic that positively regressed with decreased dollar spot susceptibility during the peak disease development stage. These findings suggest that localized variation in soil iron induces the plant to select for a particular rhizosphere microbiome that alters the disease outcome. More broadly, further research in this area may indicate how plot-scale variability in soil properties can drive variable plant disease development through alterations in the rhizosphere microbiome.IMPORTANCE Dollar spot is the most economically important disease of amenity turfgrass, and more fungicides are applied targeting dollar spot than any other turfgrass disease. Dollar spot symptoms are small (3 to 5 cm), circular patches that develop in a highly variable manner within plot scale even under seemingly uniform conditions. The mechanism behind this variable development is unknown. This study observed that differences in dollar spot development over a 256-m2 area were associated with differences in bulk soil iron concentration and correlated with a particular rhizosphere microbiome. These findings provide interesting avenues for future research to further characterize the mechanisms behind the highly variable development of dollar spot, which may inform innovative control strategies. Additionally, these results suggest that small changes in soil properties can alter plant activity and hence the plant-associated microbial community, which has important implications for a broad array of agricultural and horticultural plant pathosystems.

Dollar spot is caused by the fungus Clarireedia spp. and is the most economically important disease of golf course turfgrass in temperate regions of the United States. Previous research has demonstrated that nitrogen (N) fertilization may reduce dollar spot severity, but the results have been inconsistent, and the impact of N as part of repeated foliar fertilization applications to golf course putting greens remains unclear. Two independent trials were replicated in Madison, Wisconsin and Glenview, Illinois in the 2015, 2016, and 2017 growing seasons. The objective of the first trial was to evaluate the effect of four different N rates applied as urea (4.9, 9.8, 19.4, and 29.3 kg N/ha applied every 2 weeks) on dollar spot severity, and the objective of the second trial was to evaluate the effect of three N sources (calcium nitrate, ammonium sulfate, and ammonium nitrate applied every 2 weeks) on dollar spot severity. Results from the N rate trial at both locations indicated that only the highest (29.3 kg N/ha) rate consistently reduced dollar spot severity relative to the nontreated control. Nitrogen source had minimal and inconsistent impacts on dollar spot severity based on location and year. Although these results show that meaningful reductions in dollar spot severity can be achieved by manipulating N fertilizer application rates, the rate of N needed for disease suppression may be impractical for most superintendents to apply and result in undesirable nontarget impacts.

The Red Sea was witness to important events during human history, including the first long steps in a trade network (the spice route) that would drive maritime technology and shape geopolitical fortunes for thousands of years. Punt was a pivotal early node in the rise of this enterprise, serving as an important emporium for luxury goods, including sacred baboons (Papio hamadryas), but its location is disputed. Here, we use geospatial variation in the oxygen and strontium isotope ratios of 155 baboons from 77 locations to estimate the geoprovenance of mummified baboons recovered from ancient Egyptian temples and tombs. Five Ptolemaic specimens of P. anubis (404-40 BC) showed evidence of long-term residency in Egypt prior to mummification, consistent with a captive breeding program. Two New Kingdom specimens of P. hamadryas were sourced to a region that encompasses much of present-day Ethiopia, Eritrea, and Djibouti, and portions of Somalia and Yemen. This result is a testament to the tremendous reach of Egyptian seafaring during the 2nd millennium BC. It also corroborates the balance of scholarly conjecture on the location of Punt.


Strontium is a chemical element that can act as a geographic fingerprint: its composition differs between locations, and as it enters the food chain, it can help to retrace the life history of extant or past animals. In particular, strontium in teeth ­ which stop to develop early ­ can reveal where an individual was born; strontium in bone and hair, on the other hand, can show where it lived just before death. Together, these analyses may hold the key to archaeological mysteries, such as the location of a long-lost kingdom revered by ancient Egyptians. For hundreds of years, the Land of Punt was one of Egypt's strongest trading partners, and a place from which to import premium incense and prized monkeys. Travellers could reach Punt by venturing south and east of Egypt, suggesting that the kingdom occupied the southern Red Sea region. Yet its exact location is still highly debated. To investigate, Dominy et al. examined the mummies of baboons present in ancient Egyptian tombs, and compared the strontium compositions of the bones, hair and teeth of these remains with the ones found in baboons living in various regions across Africa. This shed a light on the origins of the ancient baboons: while some were probably raised in captivity in Egypt, others were born in modern Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti, Somalia and Yemen ­ areas already highlighted as potential locations for the Land of Punt. The work by Dominy et al. helps to better understand the ancient trade routes that shaped geopolitical fortunes for millennia. It also highlights the need for further archaeological research in Eritrea and Somalia, two areas which are currently understudied.

Dollar spot is one of the most economically important diseases of turfgrasses. Recent taxonomic revisions have placed the dollar spot fungal pathogens in the new genus Clarireedia, with five species described. The main goal of this study was to develop a quantitative real-time PCR (qPCR) molecular detection assay based on the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) of the ribosomal RNA genes to quantify the abundance of Clarireedia spp. from environmental (field) samples. The qPCR assay was able to detect isolates of the four tested Clarireedia spp. but did not cross react with nontarget fungi, including closely related taxa, other turfgrass pathogens, or other fungal species commonly isolated from turfgrass. The assay is capable of detecting as little as 38.0 fg (3.8 × 10-14 g) of Clarireedia genomic DNA in 3 h. The qPCR assay detected Clarireedia spp. in both symptomatic and asymptomatic creeping bentgrass (Agrostis stolonifera) foliar tissue. Clarireedia spp. were rarely detected in the thatch or soil, indicating that these pathogens are not widely distributed in these areas of the environment. The fact that the pathogen was detected in asymptomatic tissue suggests that creeping bentgrass may be able to tolerate a certain quantity of the pathogens in leaves before disease symptoms appear; however, further research is needed to validate this hypothesis.

OBJECTIVE: Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-guided laser interstitial thermal therapy (MRg-LITT) is an alternative to open epilepsy surgery. We assess safety and effectiveness of MRg-LITT for extratemporal lobe epilepsy (ETLE) in patients who are considered less favorable for open resection. METHODS: We retrospectively reviewed sequential cases of patients with focal ETLE who underwent MRg-LITT between 2012 and 2019. Epileptogenic zones were determined from standard clinical and imaging data ± stereoelectroencephalography (SEEG). Standard stereotactic techniques, MRI thermometry, and a commercial laser thermal therapy system were used for ablations. Anatomic MRI was used to calculate ablation volumes. Clinical outcomes were determined longitudinally. RESULTS: Thirty-five patients with mean epilepsy duration of 21.3 ± 12.2 years underwent MRg-LITT for focal ETLE at a mean age 36.4 ± 12.7 years. A mean 2.59 ± 1.45 trajectories per patient were used to obtain ablation volumes of 8.8 ± 7.5 cm3 . Mean follow-up was 27.3 ± 19.5 months. Of 32 patients with >12 months of follow-up, 17 (53%) achieved good outcomes (Engel class I + II) of whom 14 (44%) were Engel class I. Subgroup analysis revealed better outcomes for patients with lesional ETLE than for those who were nonlesional, multifocal, or who had failed prior interventions (P = .02). Of 13 patients showing favorable seizure-onset patterns (localized low voltage fast activity or rhythmic spiking on SEEG) prior to ablation, 9 (69%) achieved good outcomes, whereas only 3 of 11 (27%) who show other slower onset patterns achieved good outcomes. Minor adverse events included six patients with transient sensorimotor neurologic deficits and four patients with asymptomatic hemorrhages along the fiber tract. Major adverse events included one patient with a brain abscess that required stereotactic drainage and one patient with persistent hypothalamic obesity. Three deaths-two seizure-associated and one suicide-were unrelated to surgical procedures. SIGNIFICANCE: MRI-guided laser interstitial thermal therapy (or MRg-LITT) was well-tolerated and yielded good outcomes in a heterogeneous group of ETLE patients. Lesional epilepsy and favorable seizure-onset patterns on SEEG predicted higher likelihoods of success.

Dollar spot is caused by the fungus Clarireedia jacksonii and is the most common disease of golf course turfgrass in temperate climates. Oxalic acid (OA) is an important pathogenicity factor in other fungal plant pathogens, such as the dicot pathogen Sclerotinia sclerotiorum, but its role in C. jacksonii pathogenicity on monocot hosts remains unclear. Herein, we assess fungal growth, OA concentration, and pH change in potato dextrose broth (PDB) following incubation of C. jacksonii. In addition, OA production by C. jacksonii and S. sclerotiorum was compared in PDB amended with creeping bentgrass or common plant cell wall components (cellulose, lignin, pectin, or xylan). Our results show that OA production is highly dependent on the environmental pH, with twice as much OA produced at pH 7 than pH 4 and a corresponding decrease in PDB pH from 7 to 5 following 96 h of C. jacksonii incubation. In contrast, no OA was produced or changes in pH observed when C. jacksonii was incubated in PDB at a pH of 4. Interestingly, C. jacksonii increased OA production in response to PDB amended with creeping bentgrass tissue and the cell wall component xylan, a major component of grass cell walls. S. sclerotiorum produced large amounts of OA relative to C. jacksonii regardless of treatment, and no treatment increased OA production by this fungus, though pectin suppressed S. sclerotiorum's OA production. These results suggest that OA production by C. jacksonii is reliant on host specific components within the infection court, as well as the ambient pH of the foliar environment during its pathogenic development.

While hippocampal-dependent learning and memory are particularly vulnerable to traumatic brain injury (TBI), the functional status of individual hippocampal neurons and their interactions with oscillations are unknown following injury. Using the most common rodent TBI model and laminar recordings in CA1, we found a significant reduction in oscillatory input into the radiatum layer of CA1 after TBI. Surprisingly, CA1 neurons maintained normal firing rates despite attenuated input, but did not maintain appropriate synchronization with this oscillatory input or with local high-frequency oscillations. Normal synchronization between these coordinating oscillations was also impaired. Simultaneous recordings of medial septal neurons known to participate in theta oscillations revealed increased GABAergic/glutamatergic firing rates postinjury under anesthesia, potentially because of a loss of modulating feedback from the hippocampus. These results suggest that TBI leads to a profound disruption of connectivity and oscillatory interactions, potentially disrupting the timing of CA1 neuronal ensembles that underlie aspects of learning and memory.

RESUMO

Decoding laminar information across deep brain structures and cortical regions is necessary in order to understand the neuronal ensembles that represent cognition and memory. Large animal models are essential for translational research due to their gyrencephalic neuroanatomy and significant white matter composition. A lack of long-length probes with appropriate stiffness allowing penetration to deeper structures with minimal damage to the neural interface is one of the major technical limitations to applying the approaches currently utilized in lower order animals to large animals. We therefore tested the performance of multichannel silicon probes of various solutions and designs that were developed specifically for large animal electrophysiology. Neurophysiological signals from dorsal hippocampus were recorded in chronically implanted awake behaving Yucatan pigs. Single units and local field potentials were analyzed to evaluate performance of given silicon probes over time. EDGE-style probes had the highest yields during intra-hippocampal recordings in pigs, making them the most suitable for chronic implantations and awake behavioral experimentation. In addition, the cross-sectional area of silicon probes was found to be a crucial determinant of silicon probe performance over time, potentially due to reduction of damage to the neural interface. Novel 64-channel EDGE-style probes tested acutely produced an optimal single unit separation and a denser sampling of the laminar structure, identifying these research silicon probes as potential candidates for chronic implantations. This study provides an analysis of multichannel silicon probes designed for large animal electrophysiology of deep laminar brain structures, and suggests that current designs are reaching the physical thresholds necessary for long-term (∼1 month) recordings with single-unit resolution.

It has long been proposed that pre-modern hominin impacts drove extinctions and shaped the evolutionary history of Africa's exceptionally diverse large mammal communities, but this hypothesis has yet to be rigorously tested. We analyzed eastern African herbivore communities spanning the past 7 million years-encompassing the entirety of hominin evolutionary history-to test the hypothesis that top-down impacts of tool-bearing, meat-eating hominins contributed to the demise of megaherbivores prior to the emergence of Homo sapiens We document a steady, long-term decline of megaherbivores beginning ~4.6 million years ago, long before the appearance of hominin species capable of exerting top-down control of large mammal communities and predating evidence for hominin interactions with megaherbivore prey. Expansion of C4 grasslands can account for the loss of megaherbivore diversity.

Stable isotopes are important ecological tools, because the carbon and nitrogen isotopic composition of consumer tissue reflects the diet. Measurements of isotopes of individual amino acids can disentangle the effects of consumer physiology from spatiotemporal variation in dietary isotopic values. However, this approach requires knowledge of assimilation patterns of dietary amino acids. We reared leopard sharks (Triakis semifasciata) on diets of squid (Loligo opalescens; 1250 days; control sharks) or squid then tilapia (Oreochromis sp.; switched at 565 days; experimental sharks) to evaluate consumer-diet discrimination factors for amino acids in muscle tissue. We found that control sharks exhibited lower nitrogen isotope discrimination factors (∆15N) than most previous consumer studies, potentially because of urea recycling. Control sharks also had large carbon isotope discrimination factors (∆13C) for three essential amino acids, suggesting microbial contributions or fractionation upon assimilation. Compared to controls, experimental sharks exhibited higher ∆13C values for four amino acids and ∆15N values for seven amino acids, corresponding with differences between diets in δ13C and δ15N values. This suggests that not all amino acids in experimental sharks had reached steady state, contrary to the conclusion of a bulk isotope study of these sharks. Our results imply that (1) the magnitude of a shift in dietary δ13C and δ15N values temporarily influences the appearance of discrimination factors; (2) slow turnover of amino acid isotopes in elasmobranch muscle precludes inferences about seasonal dietary changes; (3) elasmobranch discrimination factors for amino acids may be affected by urea recycling and microbial contributions of amino acids.

The hippocampus is integral to working and episodic memory and is a central region of interest in diseases affecting these processes. Pig models are widely used in translational research and may provide an excellent bridge between rodents and nonhuman primates for CNS disease models because of their gyrencephalic neuroanatomy and significant white matter composition. However, the laminar structure of the pig hippocampus has not been well characterized. Therefore, we histologically characterized the dorsal hippocampus of Yucatan miniature pigs and quantified the cytoarchitecture of the hippocampal layers. We then utilized stereotaxis combined with single-unit electrophysiological mapping to precisely place multichannel laminar silicon probes into the dorsal hippocampus without the need for image guidance. We used in vivo electrophysiological recordings of simultaneous laminar field potentials and single-unit activity in multiple layers of the dorsal hippocampus to physiologically identify and quantify these layers under anesthesia. Consistent with previous reports, we found the porcine hippocampus to have the expected archicortical laminar structure, with some anatomical and histological features comparable to the rodent and others to the primate hippocampus. Importantly, we found these distinct features to be reflected in the laminar electrophysiology. This characterization, as well as our electrophysiology-based methodology targeting the porcine hippocampal lamina combined with high-channel-count silicon probes, will allow for analysis of spike-field interactions during normal and disease states in both anesthetized and future awake behaving neurophysiology in this large animal.

RESUMO

Loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) and recombinase polymerase amplification (RPA) are two rapid isothermal amplification methods for detecting three common fungal root pathogens of cool-season turfgrass: Gaeumannomyces avenae, Magnaporthiopsis poae and Ophiosphaerella korrae, "Detection of root-infecting fungi on cool-season turfgrasses using loop-mediated isothermal amplification and recombinase polymerase amplification" (Karakkat et al., 2018) [1]. The data provided here describe the information for designing primers and probes for LAMP and RPA, how specific they are for each of the three fungi, and the evaluation of RPA on field samples.
